Two thoughts that I have personally dealt with. First, my cholesterol, fasting, is 143. Lower than the optimal 160ish. Some would say it is too low. The rate of cancer rises at the lower levels. My GP terrified me with this. He said I needed to raise it?
He forced me to do a lot of research. The cancer curve is low, and the heart disease curve is steep in the other direction. I'm playing the odds the right way, I always figured.
Also, my good-to-bad ratio is WAY too low. Off the charts at 1.5. Is this a lower-is-better thing, or is there a problem? My cardiologist tells me I worry too much.
