They use propina in Colombia as their word for tip. As in a tip you give a waitress. In some other Spanish-speaking places, it is a bad word. As in the tip of something else. I've had some hilarious conversations over that, stupid gringo that I am.

We went to a Peruvian place in Kali. I ordered ceviche mas picante...the waiter was insistent, "No gustas"...But when he realized I was from Florida, they brought out every spicy thing they had in the kitchen, I think. Safe to say Peruvian cuisine is marginal amongst Colombians. hahaha

Sancocho is a chicken and potato soup with sausage and stuff? It seems to vary depending on the place. But it is all over Bogota.
