There are social changes in adolescent behavior, as well, it seems. Younger (15 to 25?) girls today are SMART. They don't cater to boys. Not at all. In areas like West Virginia, the young men go to work, and the young ladies go to college. (Cliche, I know, but it is true in college towns like Bluefield, etc.)

The problem isn't the successful young ladies. It is those who are left behind: Those without the self-confidence to stand up in ways they never have before. The emergence of young women so smart that they threaten men their age is a really good thing. But it also pressures those not so capable.

I am NOT an expert, but the exploding intelligence in proud young women is a common observation for those around young people these days.
