The whole point is that it takes TWO things to make cholesterol: Saturated fat and fructose. My cholesterol total was once 258 with bad ratios. As of Monday, it is 143 with great ratios. Ancel Keys had it wrong, you don’t cut the fats, you cut the fructose.
One other issue that is important is that statin drugs have something like a 22% chance of preventing a first heart attack? But a 28% chance of giving you type 2 diabetes and a 30% chance of liver damage? I mean really.
(I did the percentages from memory so if you have better numbers I apologize. But these are reflective of the danger of the statins. And this does NOT apply to anyone who has already had a heart attack.)
