The irony is that the bible was NEVER intended to be a history, but rather a history of the evolution of the faith. Even Jesus spoke in parables. It was the style of the era.

An even greater irony is that with all of the translations that existed, including those deemed apocryphal, they were deemed irrelevant by the King James Version. Which was referred to as the inerrant word of God.
