Jesus spoke in parables, why can't the bible be a parable? It was the style of the day. Joseph took Mary to Bethlehem? A rough journey, two days with a pregnant lady through robbers and highwaymen? So why is the story in the bible? Because it shows a connection to David. And what is really important? Go the extra mile, turn the other cheek, love thy neighbor, love God...
