It is a common belief among Americans that Finland is a Scandinavian country. The fact remains that there is not one criterion that makes it Scandinavian. It's not on the Scandinavian peninsula, the people aren't Nordic, and the language is far from similar to other Scandinavian countries. I've been told that the heritage is more Estonian/Romanian than Scandinavian. (I am tempted to add E. Munch's Scream here. lol)

I don't mean to belittle your point about the hypothetical battle. I agree with you completely on that.
