I keep the carbs to about 30g to 50g a day. Calories become irrelevant. I've lost 150 pounds over 20 years. I love my Mediterranean diet. Ever heard of a Greek Horiatiki salad? I do them with a lot of olive oil and feta cheese. To die for.
My bloodwork is perfect, if you overlook the too-low cholesterol. Total fasting is around 140. Mid afternoon is around 150 something. I know from donating blood, where you MUST eat beforehand. My blood glucose stays 85 to 95, 24 hours a day.
I run a few miles a day. Not bad for 74 years old?
