I have read several times that Jesus really didn't venture far from Capernaum. And that most of his teaching was done in the greater Capernaum city areas. There was a big reason: It was Greek and wasn't run by Pharisees or Romans. He didn't last long when he finally went to a Roman-controlled Jerusalem. I'm not an expert, but I have read some great books on the history and geography of the times.
