I am an electronics engineer. Later in life I was told by a friend, who is coincidentally an anesthesiologist, that I copy other people's speech patterns. He said he was the same...but it is not a conscious thing. I agree. I can talk to autistic children occasionally. Apparently it is the kids who have speech patterns that I subconsciously mimic?
