I lost 140 pounds on a low-carb Mediterranean. If there is a secret, I use about a liter of olive oil a week. Trust me, I eat GOOD!!! Yummy. I will continue this for the rest of my life.
I tried this, but I think olive oil works better. I consume about a liter a week. My arthritis and costochondritis are pretty much all gone and my health has improved beyond my wildest hopes.
I eat a low-carb Mediterranean. Now. Before I was like a typical fat American with all sorts of health problems. Now I am thinner and healthy like a Mediterranean. Yes, I was and am what I eat.
You keep emphasizing cutting back on red meat. Nice advice. But not nearly as important as cutting out ALL sugars etc.
There is always someone better off, and someone worse off. As a Floridian I dealt with the cold in Norway. I couldn't deal with the darkness. SAD they called it? Seasonal affected disorder? hahaha I even brought it home with me and have problems in winter still.
INFJ here. I always thought I was an extrovert??? Apparently I am seriously an introvert and my whole extrovert thing was a giant, pretentious act?
No idea about the psychology behind it, but I am so much happier these days. I am convinced that honesty, even with oneself, is the real key to happiness.
Everyone is different. Personally, I'd most want to lick your neck right at the bottom of your left ear. As a faithful reader, that is just my opinion. hahaha
All joking aside, I feel stuff like that all the time. (My psychologist friend says I am an empath?) I am almost always 100% on point in real life? But rarely am I right when it is a person I only know from online. But it is still a nice thought.
You just did an entire article on thyroid health. And here you only use "iodized" as an adjective for a type of salt? I had to laugh because you are young. Old people like me remember back when salt was iodized...it was THE solution to thyroid dysfunction. Way before your time. (And of course I'm only joking.) LOL
Also, re potassium. The only script I take is lisinopril. Which, as you know, is potassium sparing. I often get low potassium readings because I avoid it so...and actually have to supplement occasionally.
One other thing: As a Floridian , I tend to use (Hispanic) Badia Adobo instead of salt. ANd while it is only maybe 15% less sodium, I use much less of it. With no loss in flavor.
Is it just me, or are people either totally unaware of thyroid problems; or, so obsessed with them that they overcompensate? I think this is an important piece for people to read!!! Keep preaching, my friend!!!
Personally, I believe in the pursuit of happiness 100% of the time. A person can achieve this, for real. The route to follow? HONESTY. With everyone and with one's self. Always. I learned this after 60 years of trying to finagle my way through life. But it really works.
